Ashanti Shequoiya Douglas, also referred to as Ashanti was born on the 13th of October of 1980, in Glen Cove New York United States. She is a singer, songwriter from America and actor. Ashanti became famous as an 18-year-old and was signed to Murder Inc. Records in 2002. She appeared in Fat Joe's What's Luv? song that was released the following year. The singer also featured on Fat Joe's song"What's Luv!" as well as the Ja Rules' track Never on Time and Ja Rules track Always On Time, both of which were huge hits. It was the first time for a female artist to have the first and second spots in the Billboard Hot 100 list in the United States with Foolish at the top spot and What's Luv? Ashanti Douglas, or Ashanti as she's popularly known, was born in Glen Cove New York in 1980. Tina Douglas, her mother, is a retired teacher of dance. Ken-Kaide Douglas is her father. The Kenashia Shia family is their younger brother. Douglas chose her name in honor of her father, who was a member of the Ashanti Empire which was located in Ghana where women had power and influence and Douglas would like Ashanti to model that same pattern. The track she used for her debut single Foolish was taken from DeBarge's with Me, a 1983 track. The self-titled debut album of Ashanti was released in 2002 through Irv Gotti's Murder Inc. record label. The Declaration was her fourth studio album, was released in June 2008 Hey Baby After the Club was released on 16 October to digital and radio outlets. She appeared as a character in The Christmas in the City film and played Latasha on Army Wives. Aitch was seen wearing in her Rock wit U sample in Baby on the 10th of March 2022.
